Arrival in Mürren
The idyllic mountain village of Mürren is car-free and can only be reached by public transport, cable car or by foot. Every journey to Mürren leads through Interlaken. Don’t worry, we’ll explain exactly how to get here. Of course we will pick you up at the top station of the cable car or at the train station and transport your luggage to the hotel.
Arrival by car
Follow the road from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen or Stechelberg. There are parking facilities in both villages, the onward journey to Mürren is made by public transport.
From the parking garage in Lauterbrunnen you reach the Mürrenbahn (BLM), which takes you to Mürren.
The parking lot in Stechelberg is located at the Schilthorn cable car. Take the gondola straight to Mürren via Gimmelwald.
Arrival by public transport
The Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) takes you from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen ( travel time: 24 minutes). Board the front section of the train, as the train is separated at Zweilütschinen. All departure times and connections can be found on the SBB website.
You have two options from Lauterbrunnen:
Option 1 (20 min.)
- Take the gondola from Lauterbrunnen station to Grütschalp.
- From Grütschalp, continue by train to Mürren.
Option 2 (30 MIn.)
- From Lauterbrunnen, take the bus towards Stechelberg as far as the Schilthornbahn stop.
- Take the Schilthorn cable car via Gimmelwald to Mürren.
Travel time to the Lauterbrunnen Valley
From Basel, Geneva or Zurich airport, take the highway to Interlaken (exit: Wilderswil).
From there you can follow the well-maintained cantonal road to Lauterbrunnen or on to Stechelberg.

from Geneva: 2h 20 – 2h 30min
from Zurich: 1 h 45 min – 2h
